Will Pacquiao's 3 loses and the fact hes been knocked out be remembered in his legacy?

If mayweather wins or loses he will get no credit for defeating manny. And the fact that his zero loses means nothing what happen with mannys defeats. manny will receive the title for best ever if defeating floyd, how is this right??????? When manny was getting knocked out floyd was a dominating champ. Manny improved over the years but he got knocked out to bombs.

No way man. Manny's first KO loss came when he was still a struggling young fighter. His 2nd loss, also by KO, came as a result of having outgrown a division since he was still young and growing then. The 3rd loss against Morales was something he could even be proud of. The first Morales fight was a brutal one, with Pac finishing the fight despite a bad cut incurred in the 5th round. In the end what people will remember were his 11th round destruction of Barrera in his first fight as a featherweight, the 2 KO victories over Morales at 130 and the KO wins over Diaz (135), de la Hoya (147), Hatton (140) and Cotto (145).

Look at all the greats in history. With a few exceptions who are in fact also overrated (paging Rocky M.! I'm talking about you!) they have all lost!

Lets talk about that one loss to the Thai. This was at a time when Manny was literally, growing up. He won the championship belt previously from Chatchai Sasakul, but was unable to stay at that weight. He outgrew it too quickly. Compare this to Floyd who had a problem going down just 2 pounds to meet a contractually agreed upon weight. Manny simply refused to give up the belt without a fight and forced himself to come down. He was so dehydrated when he came into the ring. His eyes were glassy before the fight even started. He went down swinging. After the fight, he was crying, but he was so dehydrated that there weren't even any tears coming out.

So tell me, who am I going to respect more? The warrior? Or the talker? Face it, when it comes to fighting, Pacquiao simply puts in the greater effort.

losing in your teens and early 20's when you a starving kid is alot different. while Floyd was wearing headgear as an amateur, Manny was fighting so that he didnt have to eat his dog. he eats 8000 calories per day when training, which is about as much as he probably ate in a whole month in the Philipines. as far as Mayweather not getting credit for winning against Pacquiao, thats nonsense, he will get full credit.

It aint just about how many loses or wins you have in your resume. Its about how many of them were actually significant. If you are saying that Pacquiaos first lost when he was a skinny little kid, then why cant we also capitalize on Floyds loses during his amateur career. Both of them started at 106 at the age of 16. The only difference is that Pacquiao started as a professional, and Floyd as an amateur. Do you think he would have been unbeaten if he took on pros at the age of 16? He had losses in his amatuer career, and lost his bid at the gold during the atlanta olympics. A loss is a loss right? Remember at that time, manny was not fighting for a championship belt or PPV recognition, he fought to put food on his table. He had to turn pro at a very young age, because its the only way hed be able to make both ends meet. His second loss came in the scales when he had to drain and starve himself so much to make weight and fight in some sh!tty coliseum in thailand. Those fights were insignificant, because no one would really recognize him as an A-lister even if he won those fights. Now if he actually lost to Barrera, then he would have never had to opportunity to be ranked in the P4P list. His first and only significant loss as an A-list fighter came with morales, he would have also been finished as a boxer if he never knocked out morales in the rematch. In the same way, Hatton will never get in the same level as Floyd and Manny is, because he lost in his most significant fights

Heck Bernard Hopkins started his career with a loss. But is that a factor when you review his resume over Trinidad, De la Hoya, Tarver, and Pavlik? Who is Clinton Mitchell compared to them. In the same way, who the hell is Torrecampo and Singsurat compared to Barrera, Morales, Cotto, and De la Hoya? You have to understand, Manny is a different fighter now than he was way back. Back then he was simply fighting to pay his bills. Now he is fighting for an honor of a country and the recognition of the world. Some of the physical abilities and skills that he has now, are very much different from what he had years back. So FLoyd wont be fighting a 16 year old skinny Pacquiao. Floyd will be fighting the Pacquiao refined trough his battles with Barrera, Morales, De la Hoya, and Hatton. I really disagree that Hatton and Cotto became damaged goods when they had their first respective losses. In fact a loss at times makes a fighter even more dangerous and hungrier. Look at what Happened to Leonard after he lost to Duran. Look at what happened to Ali after he lost to Frazier.

But dont worry I aint gonna take nothing away from FLoyd if he wins. He is better than Manny on the day he wins, and will get full credit for that. But I dont think youd give Manny full credit if he does win this fight.

IT'S NOT THE "UNDEFEATED" RECORD THAT MAKES BOXING LEGENDS. IT IS WHO YOU FOUGHT AND HOW YOU FOUGHT THEM!

i.e. Rocky Marciano was undefeated..does this imply he is better than Ali?

    Hell...I can fight 50 girls and probably will have a 50-0 record..LOL.

    "THE UGLY TRUTH"...lol

If Manny loses...it will not matter to his boxing carrer. He will still be adored by millions and command high $% in the next fight. If market power ($$) is somehow lost, loved boxing legends are only a win away from the hearts of contributing ($$) fans.

If PBF loses, it will be detremental to his boxing career. It will stand as a testament of PBF's and PBF fan's misplaced ideology that he is a cornerstone figure in the sport of boxing. If PBF loses, his port-hole to making big $$ in boxing will be narrowed.

Two of Manny's losses come from him weight draining himself to fight. He had to lose 5 pounds in one day in one case and did it by dehydrating himself. He fought weight drained when he got knocked out by those two bums. His last loss is an honorable one, he lost to the great Erik Morales. No shame in losing to a legend.

This is a what have you done lately age...people forget past greatness. Since Manny has been nothing but spectacular lately and suffered those KOs coming up ..not quite known yet on a global scale...people barely acknowledge that these things happened. I think it is hypocritical because no name guys knocked him out...guys of lesser credibility than the guys Pacquiao fans try to belittle Mayweather's resume over beating. Floyd will never be properly appreciated.
