Is religion going the way of the........................................?

UFO? Have you noticed that over time the miracles or the sightings of ufo's are becoming less and less. Now that everyone has a camera phone you never see a good picture of a ufo or you never see proof of a miracle other than jesus on a piece of toast. Is technology making ufo's and religion irrelevant?

IDK, but you're right about miracles and UFO's. As technology progresses, it will be increasingly harder to claim some amazing event actually happened without producing extraordinary evidence.

Well... It's not technology that is making UFOs and Religion "irrelevant".

I'm pretty certain that "God and the Alien's" aren't scared of a mere 3 mega pixel camera phone having the possibility of "catching" them travel at the speed of light.

It's the logistics and reality of Scientific evidence. The reason why claims of UFO sightings and 'God-like' miracles are declining is because in this late hour of the technological day mankind demand evidence to support any claim. We have the means to provide evidence. If no one can then it can hardly be concluded as fact.

Personally, I believe that Aliens are nonsense. The only possible chance of life in another territory of space would require conditions similar to our galaxy. If that existed then these aliens wouldn't look far different from us (if going by the evolutionary theorem all 'goes well') and they wouldn't be far more developed than our civilization since the universe has a central time zone and a common birth point. To illustrate it would be like twins living on opposite sides of the earth.

It's not a case of Religion being "irrelevant" in fact religion is very valuable to the shape of our civilization. In fact without it we would hardly be a civilization. Mankind need to be BALANCED spiritually. However, in this technological age, balance has been thrown off and religion is viewed as trivial.

I don't think so. I do think how people of faith manifest their beliefs are changing as new-media becomes more prevalent. People still talk about miracles, but people also recognize more and more widely that miracles come in many forms. One can look upon a successful surgery as being as much a miracle as the proverbial 'POOF! You're healed!" moment.

I do think that technology is making the 'flash-bang' traveling healer obsolete (or, it is at least exposing the cons that some of them have worked in the past), but I don't think that it is making religion in general obsolete.

Well, according to the Bible (SHOCK! YES, I am actually quoting from that book, but wait until you read what I have to say before you condemn it out of hand!) - but, according to the Bible, TRUE religion, one that even GOD approves of, is to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, house the homeless, care for the sick and needy, forgive others, and treat others the way you want to be treated, etc.

Your question implies that you would WANT to see religion become somewhat extinct. If I am wrong, well, what can I say - your question is what I'm basing my answer on.

I just hope that YOU are never in a position like the victims of Katrina that lost their homes and everything! Because if you ever ARE, you would have to reject any help in rebuilding your house.

Because they are Christians, a couple from the church I attend, have gone down there and joined other Christians in rebuilding homes for those who lost theirs. They buy all the materials with their own money, they pay for their own way there, and they pay for their own room and board, unless some local church is willing to support them while they are out there.

I suppose you would want them to stop this atrocious behavior of trying to meet the needs of others!

But if you ever DO need help for any reason, unless you admit to being a hypocrite, you can't really ask for, or accept, help from others! Will you let your pride and ego come in the way of admitting you have been wrong about religion? Or will you actually admit that religion is a good thing? You can't, after all, have it both ways, you know!

I'm not sure where you're getting this information. Miracles are reported every single day around the world, and plenty of pictures have been taken. UFOs continue to be sighted all over the world as well, with hundreds of people seeing them all at once as they fly over. Your claim is false from the start.

Is technology making ufo's and religion irrelevant? NO

Technology changes but people have not changed from Adam and Eve until now.

Revelations 22:10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.

Revelations 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

Revelations 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Revelations 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

aaaaaaaaa Waffle Boy! You throw all the Bible away and all christians away because of a few superstitious people?

You reject Jesus because you have not spent the time to read about him and get to know the real spirit of Jesus.

    My Dear Watson Said:

    religion is viewed as trivial.

    Because

Romans 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Romans 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Romans 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge,

God gave them over to a reprobate mind,

(REP'ROBATE, n. A person abandoned to sin; one lost to virtue and religion.)

    to do those things which are not convenient;

    REP'ROBATE, v.t.

    1. To disapprove with detestation or marks of extreme dislike; to disallow; to reject. It expresses more than disapprove or disallow. We disapprove of slight faults and improprieties; we reprobate what is mean or criminal.

    2. In a milder sense, to disallow.

Such an answer as this, is reprobated and disallowed of in law.

    3. To abandon to wickedness and eternal destruction.

    4. To abandon to his sentence, without hope of pardon.

Drive him out to reprobated exile.

You give them facts and it goes over their wee Cranium!

The so called scientist would rather make educated guesses rather than just go to the bible.

I see miracles. In fact, when I pray for people, some of them get instantly healed. And yes, this is non believers as well as believers, who are usually blown away by what happened. These miracles happen a lot, keep your eyes open.

good tree, you have a moral obligation to report directly to President Obama...this could be the medical breakthru he's been looking for...say a prayer, heal the sick...wow, no doctors, no tests, no insurance forms.

As for the hundreds around the world, maybe you could list a half dozen or so? just so's we could check?
