the plant came into the house perfect. the leaves drop off from the bottom up. i need to know watering options keep the soil dry or wet. plant food needed? help please i can't spell right.

If your plant is under stress do not use fertilizer this will kill it. Your better off putting a chopstick in the soil and check it daily and see if it needs water. Hope this helps.

Poinsettias are grown in green houses that are perfect conditions for the plant.
When we bring them into our houses they go through a shock period.
It is best to keep them moist and not wet.
It most likely at the moment has plenty of food in the soil.
You can later on use a regular house plant fertilizer.
Place it in bright sun light window and away from any heat source
