1998 Mitsubishi Galant. Will the computer reset without driving?

The check engine light came on. Code p0170 - Fuel trim malfunction (Bank 1). I replaced the gas cap and added B-12 to the gas. I erased codes and drove 87 miles and the light came on again. This time code p0125 - Insufficient coolant temp for closed loop fuel ctrl. I replaced the thermostat, erased codes and drove it again. At 97 miles, light came back on. I am going to do some other maintenance to try to cure this problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My question is, do I have to put the miles on to reset the computer? Or can I leave it idle to do so?

Update:

Question: After I erase the codes, can I idle the engine to make the computer reset or do I have to drive it 50 to 100 miles every time I repair something?

Why replace the gas cap if you didn't have an Evap code? (P-0440 or P-0442) Waste of money.

The thermostat for a P-0125 is a good fix, make sure you don't have airbound coolant.

I'll bet you STILL have a P-0170, your gas cap and berryman fix had NOTHING to do with your proble.

If you don't have a REAL scan tool, and not one of the dangerzone pieces of sh1T, you need a GOOD scanner. (Snap-On, MAC,MATCO or a Mitsubishi MUT II.) Before I tell you to look for vacuum leaks, or throw $400 worth of O2 sensors at the car.

More bad news, you need to do a FULL OBD-II drive cycle to see if you fixed it.

Which means, you need a FACTORY service manual from MITSUBISHI.

carry out notebook container reset by using removing the battery connection for no less than 10 minutes... if this would possibly not help, verify right here: a million. Spark plugs 2. Air filter out 3. Engine oil point 4. Transmission oil point 5. severe rigidity wires (Wires linked to the spark plug) 6. If carburetor type, spray carburetor cleanser spray on a similar time as your engine is working, if gas injected, combination carburetor cleanser into your gas/petrol. If none of those artwork, see a motor vehicle mechanic

dont really understand what your asking but to reset the computer take off the negative battery cable for a few minutes. be sure you have the radio code ( stock ) its a anti theft system, requires the code when you disconnect the battery or have a dead battery.
