Position by position, who are your favorite baseball players of all time?
Doesn't matter if they were stars, good players or journeymen. For whatever reason, you just liked the guy. Please list one player per position (excluding DH), one starting pitcher and one relief pitcher. That's a team of 10!
As always, respectful answers and commentary is much appreciated. Have fun!

Good question... this would be my all time team (it wouldn't be ANYONE'S all time team) but my favorite players at each position would probably be these guys that I grew up watching:
1B - Donn Clendenon - the slugging hero of the '69 Series. He passed away in 2005 at age 70
2B - Joe Morgan, but after him, I liked Felix Millan of the Mets... I felt bad for Millan, a great glove man, because of his error in the 1973 World Series (ground ball went through right between the wickets)
3B - George Brett (I liked him growing up because he was a bit of a Yankee killer, whereas I didn't like Mike Schmidt as much because he was a bit of a Met-killer. My next favorite 3rd baseman would be Brooks Robinson
SS - Bud Harrelson - I'm a Mets fan
LF - Willie Stargell - he was scary. He passed away in 2001 at age 61. He was cool, because not only was he a great player on the field, he might have been the "best human being" in baseball. Just a great man, and a leader on and off the field.
CF - Willie Mays - I too saw him mostly at the end of his career (from '68 or so). But we loved the guy anyway, and when he came to the Mets, we didn't care how old he was.
RF - Roberto Clemente - a friend of mine who was a Pittsburgh fan got me to pay extra attention to Clemente during Mets-Pirates games... I began to get a real appreciation of him around 1970 or so... we didn't pay a whole lot of attention to career milestones until they were almost there... I didn't actually know how close Clemente was to 3,000 hits until I saw a little blurb in the New York Post titled "Roberto: 14 to go". We looked at the schedule and wondered if he might get his 3,000th hit against the Mets, and he sure enough did. Tom Seaver stopped him on a Friday night game (perhaps aided by a controversial hit/error decision on a grounder hit to Mets 2B Ken Boswell), but he finally got it during a Saturday game off of eventual Rookie of the Year Jon Matlack.
SP - Tom Seaver - easily the greatest non-steroid pitcher I've ever seen... he was better than Maddux imo, but perhaps not quite as good as Clemens on steroids.
