Vista Permissions: Did a restore and now can't access my files?

I did a restore from a back up that I placed in an external HDD. The data seems to have been recovered (whew!) but I don't have access to certain files. Is there a way to change permissions universally so I don't have to do it one file at a time?

It's frustrating bec I am the owner, administrator and the ONLY one using this computer and I can't seem to get to anything.

download GrantAdminFullControl.reg, you will be able to right click on an individual file or folder and in one step change permissions for the individual file or all files in a folder.
