Is this some kind of mental disorder?
I dont have this problem now, but I can remember when I was 16 I was extremely obsessed over this one girl I liked. This girl of course was one of the popular girls so she showed no interest in me. I can remember looking at her picture every night and actually started to believe that we both loved each other even though she didn't care for me at all and only if at all seen me as nothing but a friend. Does this sound like a mental disorder?

Not at all, it just the obsession you had at that time. But if you still remember her and love her in some corner of your heart and get same feeling as when you were 16, then there is problem. And only resolution for this is (you already know that) to forget the past and bothers you most.

(Had the similar feeling when i was 16, but one fine evening i decided to buried all those with help of wine and decided not to think again in the same manner.)

It was a fantasy. Whether it would be considered a mental disorder would depend on the severity or intensity of the obsession. That would have had to been evaluated by a professional.

Fixating and obsessing on a person at the age of 16 is a fairly common occurrence. The good news is that you're over it. Mental habits become disorders when they change your life habits and decisions for a long period of time.

No, this isn't a disorder. It's just a teen crush. We all go through it.

This is very common problem, you are having an obsession , you should be able to control it by determination, but if you cannot , I suggest you seek professional help.

no its not.....u just let ur imagination run a little to wild. lol. its normal,theres no mental disroder. its normal to happen to someone at that age. u just really liked her. no problem. haha lol
