Economic value of human life?

I've been considering this for a while. I've decided that I think the only thing of equal value to a human life is another human life. Therefore the monetary value of a human life is the amount of money it would take to ensure another human life is saved. In terms of GDP, it might be possible to estimate this based on empirical observation of the link between GDP and mortality rates? (and may depend on percentage investment in healthcare, level of development of health etc...)

Have you guys got any papers that discuss this theory, or other approaches?

    In ethics the value of a human life is the acts one can commit during that lifetime, minus the necessities for survival.

    This means that the value of your life is your contribution to society. this contribution could be factored into and compared to a monetary value by taking an hourly wage, or the ammount of work a person could produce in a lifetime. Then deduct the monetary value of the food and or medical aid he or she would need.

    then you are left with moral contributions, which are extremely hard to measure or quantify. but litterally the value of a human life is the sum of its works.

    something could have a economic fee placed on it. If i had to be sure what economic fee I had on my existence i could think of how lots money i could settle for to alter right into a slave the place my selections have been made for me for the main area (aside from the thank you to apply the money) i could probable placed it interior the billions. i think of that still says lots appropriate to the flair in humankind. the reality that we are able to possibly not sell ourselves for 1000000000 money is a enormously significant ingredient to contemplate. Why does not we sell ourselves for that lots? We probable wont produce that lots in our lives and the majority do not even think of all that especially of themselves so why could that is interior the billions as i'm guessing it may be for only about all of folk? i don't think of that folk know only how lots impact they are in a position to have in the event that they actually labored at it.

    Mtrstude;

    Sounds like you have a Multiple Linear, or Polynomial Regression Analysis going on here. I would question if its worth all the work?

    Source(s): In Economic theory, the value of human life would equal the value of labor. This is quantifiable.
