Which Dog Breeds are Real Man Takers ?

Black Russian Terrier (bred for guarding/hunting down people in Siberia)

Dogo Argentino (South American boar hunters)

Fila Brasileiro (Brazilian KC recommends judges NOT touch the dogs during shows for examination- that's how hostile to strangers they can be but they are amazing family dogs, I have heard)

any large-giant dog, really. it's not the breed but the motivation.my coonhound mix would rip anyone to shreds that tried to harm us.

This question is just going to tick a lot of people off from a couple of people's uneducated assumptions.

Legit: Its not a breed that has the potential do something like that...Its the individual dog and how the owners act. There a lot of breeds that can potentially do this. Any large breed.

Most medium sized to large dog breeds have the ability to do quite a bit of damage if they are threatened. The first dog that comes to my mind is the German shepherd who are used by the police and military most often. They have sharp teeth a strong bite and are very intelligent. I hope this is just out of curiosity and not out of any sort of a plan.

I'm not interested in giving bad names to even more breeds of dogs being owned in the wrong places, for the wrong reasons, and by the wrong kind of people. Any big heavy dog badly trained by morons will suffice.

It really depends on the man.

I've known enormous men that are deathly afraid of dogs and would be killed by an ankle-biter if it came down to it.

I've also known very small men that know how to kill large, hostile dogs without using any weapons.

But breeds like Akita, pit bull, German shepherd, Rottweiler, Poodle (yes, Poodle)... really just about any dog that's trained to kill.
