2004 BMW 330i Died while driving and won't turn over. what is it?
I will try to condense. Started car at - 2 degrees and started driving immediately. about 5 mins later my car stutters and loses some power so I give it a little more gas but to no avail it just dies. I pull over and try to start it again it turns over a couple times then just stops. I thought it was the battery but no my battery has a full charge on it. Now it wont even turn over. another point that might help is there is no ticking of the sullinoids or whatever usually ticks just empty silence...
Thanks for any help!!!
we tried jump starting it. That didnt do anything.
We then tried putting it on a battery charger and still nothing.
i know its not the starter cuz it died while i was driving but maybe there is a safety immobilizer on the bmw that when sensing no fuel it shuts itself off and wont allow you to turn on maybe?

Even if you swear to all you hold dear that your battery has a full charge, that is still where you must start to look. Check the battery poles/terminals for corrosion or loose contacts. Try to beep your horn to have some inkling as to the power of the battery. Check the dashboard lights if they are coming on brightly when the light switch is on and also when you turn on the key (without starting the engine). Check your fan belts if they are there. If yes the alternator may not be charging.
While 5 minutes will not normally deplete a battery, with lights on and at freezing weather most batteries are not at their full potential.
