many of them when taught properly

all karate and many kung fu as well as most japanese jujutsu are well rounded, they have stand up as well as ground fighting, and can cover all four ranges of sparing.

the style isnt important, many styles are complete, well round and include all aspects that you are looking for,

not all instructors are well verse in there own style, many only know a small percentage.

most people will tell you there style is the best or they heard such and such is a great style,

the style is not important, what matters is how good your instructor is and how you train. the style is secondary, they all have there pro's and con's there are no superior styles.

if you have an instructor that can teach you how to fight, regardless of the style, what good would it do you.

its the person that has the ability to fight not the style.

it takes decades to understand one style and a life time to master it

weapons defense is not the easiest, anyone they tells you different is full of it.

first off if a persons intent is to shot you they will do that from 10 feet away, they are not going to do this in range of you to grab the gun out of there hands, if they are going to kill you with a knife they will not take one little jab or slice at you.

if there intent is to mug you, then just hand over your wallet its never worth your life. only a fool would risk there life for a few dollars.

Well although I don't have the best of experience especially when compared to older members here, I would say I know a lot when it comes into the topic of Martial Arts.

I practice Kickboxing, mixed with elements of Muay Thai and Self Defense. It's not amazing but out of the choices I have I think it suits me well and I enjoy it. Apart from that I have very little freestyle wresting and boxing experience.

For real world practical arts, I suggest something that will run on instinct and aims to take out a target ASAP. For this, you not only need a good Martial Art, but a good teacher. I suggest a good integrated Wing Chun school or Krav Maga. By integrated Wing Chun I'm talking about the ones where the instructors apply intensive training, weapons training and real-world defense. I've seen one like this nearby (which I am considering joining).

Krav Maga I have a problem finding in Northern Ireland but from what I gather it is effective against more than one foe, it teaches you to disarm someone with a weapon and instructs you not only to disarm but also to disable them to keep an opponent down.

A lot of people will say Brazilian Jujitsu or some excellent grapple/submission art but when you are on your back in the real world a group of men aren't going to take it in turns to be choked out.

"Breaks out crying uncontrollably and bangs head against the wall"... in case you will seem, you will see that this question has been requested upwards of three,000 cases!!!! there is no ultimate MARTIAL artwork (which skill there is no longer one, zilch, zip, nada). that's like asking what the ultimate colour is. the respond will continuously be an opinion. on an identical time as i'm going to declare Ninjutsu, somebody else will say Judo or Jujutsu, or Kempo. interior the tip it certainly relies upon on the practitioner and the regularly occurring of their preparation. fairly than aggravating approximately what type to take, take a seem in any respect the colleges on your area. choose for the only with the ultimate instructor and in spite of he teaches stands out as the ultimate martial artwork attainable to you.

If you enjoy Aikido (I studied it for several years)

    You will love Krav Maga.

No uniform, no rules, all based from real world practical situations.

The Israeli Military uses it, and so do the best Street Fighters of the world.

It's all about being intelligent, crippling vulnerable body parts, becoming one with the opponent, and using brute power to damage their body.

Check it out, you will love it.

If you want real world, go either Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai Kickboxing, or a combination of both.

Those two are the best martial arts, in my opinion.

    I agree with both answers
