I just dont know what to do anymore?

Lately, past few months, I have been having this really irritating pain while I make a bowel movement. The pain I am feeling is straining. I strain about everytime I go to the bathroom. Sometimes I sit there for 20 min to just have a bowel movement. But today was really bad. I could feel my stomach hurt while I was sitting, as the pain was creeping I had to go to the bathroom. So I get there and my body is relieved to be on the toilet. The pain was still there, but I knew to get rid of the pain I had to make a bowel movement. So I did. But the process was horrible. I was in the bathroom for 15 min, straining the whole time I was getting to the point to where I was crying because I couldn't push anymore. And then after it was done it made me feel very tired. I dont want to have this going on any longer. What do I need to do to make it better? Or should I seek a medical doctor?

This question just showed up in my mailbox three days after you asked it... so I hope that things are okay now. The advice about fiber is probably right. However, your symptoms were a bit extreme. Yes, you may end up feeling silly going to the doctor for something that turns out to be very minor. However, when the opposite happens, then it's not so wonderful.

GIrl, you sound constipated. Eat fiber-rich foods. Also buy some stool softeners so it doesn't hurt as much to go. I used to be chronically constipated until I made a change in diet. Good luck, because I know how painful those bowel movements can be.

Try not to strain too hard. I did too and now I have hemmorhoids (which are very painful and bothersome when they flare up). Just try to relax. Drink plenty of water, eat fruit and veggies. Stay away from red meat and dairy for a while, this will only make things worse.

One of my family members went through this too. It lasted a few months, she didn't know what was wrong with her, she doesn't like going to the doctors so she suffered through it . It didn't last much longer than a few months. But you should see a doctor. But you should eat lots of fiber.
