Am I missing something here? Why is that the very people trying to force policy change on the world to stop this mythical global warming the same people that cause more pollution than anyone else? How about they hold this in a tent that they walk or bike to? How about Al Gore reduce HIS 'carbon footprint' then worry about every else?

You are missing the goal of reducing - not eliminating - non-renewable energy and resource consumption.
Your notion that the United States congress should meet in a tent just shows how low you yourself want to bring this country over a political snit.
