My son's weird sleeping habits.?

My son has been sleeping through the night 10-12 hours since he was four months old well now all of a sudden at 15/16 months this past month.. He has been going to be at like 8 which is norml.. Then waking up at 9 and staying up all night well like until 2 in the morning.. I dont know what to do I lay with him I rock him I do everything I shut all the lights/tv off and he'll stay awake. I thought maybe it was because my husband works out of town mon-thurs so he missed him? But he even does it when my husband is home? Like tonight for instance by 8 he was out... 8:30 he wakes up so I brought him in my room and cuddled him.. Well my husband is laying with him almost 2 hours later.. and he still isnt sleeping? Im exhausted because during the week staying up with him all night is taking it's toll on me because unfortunately I need more than 5/6 hours of sleep at night.. since he rarely takes naps during the day? Does anyone have anyy ideas what could be wrong??

He also is getting his back teeth I think? I mean he has a few in already so I wasnt sure if maybe that was causing this? He's cheeks have also been really red but it's cold here so I thought maybe it was because he played outside the other day?? Idk I'm so lost with this whole thing he's been an excellent sleeper really from day 1.

try putting him to bed at 9..make sure his tummy is full. wake him up early 7 or 8 am and only let him take a nap if he will be awake again by 2 pm.

Don't feel bad..my son is 3 and is going through this thing where he goes to sleep at 1 or 2 am and sleeps till noon. I can't seem to get him back on track..even if I get him up early, if he catches a 10 min nap in the car he is totally recharged and we are up late anyway. I have a 7 year old that i have to wake up at 7 am for school and a 5 month old that wakes up twice in the night for feedings. I'm getting used to it.

hang in there...its a phase, it will pass.

My 27 month old daughter just went through a similar phase. She would skip her nap then fall asleep early (5pm) and awaken around midnight wide awake for 3-4 hours. Then she would catch a snooze for another few hours and get up at her usual 7am. This went on sporadically then seemed to be her new schedule (ack!) for a week or so. Now she is back on track. ...Except tonight she is up because she has a cold. :(

They all go through phases like this. I remember a similar bad patch around 15-16 months.

It could be due to dropping his nap (if that is a recent thing) or it could be because of his teeth. You are doing the right thing in gently guiding him back to a more normal sleep cycle.

This is the nice strategy to aid your son sleep good along with his again. There can be a bit of pastime you must do it for him. Here is the Step via step you must do a million. Know what time he traditionally pass to mattress, 20 mins earlier than positioned him to mattress. Feed him with hot milk ( breast feeding no ought to hot up). two. Let him play for quarter-hour then begin provide him a Little therapeutic massage via whole frame from head to toes. three. When He first falls asleep on his again you must do that power movement for 10 to half-hour. Lay your palm on his belly, slowly circle round clock sensible for 10 mins, give up and repeat the method for three instances you're going to see he'll sleep higher on his again function. preserve on doing this each night time till he is alright to sleep on his again certainly.

sounds normal -just look you, your child will periodically change his sleeping habits. if you have a medical concern, call the pediatrician.
