Is there a way i can break my own water?
I had sex, And it did send me into Labor. I dilated to a 2 at the hospital. But they ended up sending me home because My water didnt break and My contractions were starting to slow down.
They told me I had Prodomal Labor or False Labor (Basically Real Labor without the water breaking).
Anyways, Its been a Week and was Just wondering If its Even Possible to break my own water. If it is, Is it safe And what ways can I do it?
I dont want to Shove anything up there to break it, Thats just crazy! I want to know if there a way That I can Help to make it break...Like Exercise or something. Nothing dangerous!

Lots of sex more the better, sperm acts like a natural induction technique. All good mid wives recommend this as your safest option of trying to induce labour yourself. Nothing natural is going to break the water safely only should be done once you are having regular contractions any way otherwise your baby will be at risk, waters are only ever broken once labour is established, most women require there waters to be broken not all women's waters break themselves like we are lead to believe (we can thank hollywood for that one).
What you are trying to do is establish the start of proper labour so your contractions intensify so lots of sex, lots of walking, vacuum the house, gentle squats, swimming, anything active that you can handle and doesn't cause you pain should do the trick. (Obviously once waters break no sex or swimming because of infection)

NOPE....if you were in real labor with regular contractions then the doctor would probably break your water for you. I had this done with both pregnancies, the dr uses an instrument with a hook on it then GUUUUUSH. It really depends how close you are to your due date. Once you are 38 weeks you can usually get induced. If not just be patient, the baby will come when he/she is ready:)

False labor is not real labor without your water breaking it is False Labor, not real. Even if you could break your own water which is pretty much anatomically impossible, but it could be dangerous and not something that should even be attempted. You have to wait for the bacteria in the vagina to start breaking down the membranes and eventually breaking the bag

Man.
Okay, your water breaking doesn't speed up labor, labor speeds up labor. There is no decrease in labor time by premature breaking of the water or by artificial breaking of the water, there is no relation really - it just makes it hurt worse.
Prodromal labor is still labor, (forget breaking your water, that's just BS for folks who don't get it), and it's not false labor it's not effective labor (as in you're not changing). With prodromal labor you can help it be more effective by walking, a lot. Go walk.

You could:
1. Go to the mall and walk your @$$ off
2. Stay home and clean your @$$ off
3. You could go to the gym and get on the elliptical and exercise your @$$ off
4. Or you can just relax and let nature do its thing.
My water broke in my sleep at 42 weeks. I didn't do much to cause it, I guess at 42 weeks it was bound to happen.
I did however did everything I could at 40 and 41 weeks. Once 42 weeks rolled around, I was too physically and mentally exhausted from trying to go into labor on my own.
Physical activity will help you break your water. Also deep relaxation can do it too. I heard many women had their water break during a relaxing massage.
I guess you'll just have to wait.

Your water will break when its time. It is really bad to break it on your own. IF you were in "real labor" the drs would have broken it for you.

Just the thought of that is too dangerous.
if it had of been a safe option the DR would have done it when you were in there.
try your normal stuff, walking, cleaning, sex ect
It will happen when it is suppose to happen and most woman water does not break until they are already in labour#

Your baby knows when is ready to come out. Wait until it breaks on its own.

I would suggest raspberry tea, or the raspberry leaf pills, they are safe during pregnancy they help with thinning your cervix which would probably help out with the water thingy....

don't dare do this!
a doctor can brake your water with a tool that looks like a knitting needle, but they would have if it was the right time.
