Is there any point getting a PS3 / Xbox if new consoles for both are coming out in 2010?

First of all... Microsoft's Project Natal isn't a new console. It's an add-on for the Xbox 360 that incorporates motion capture. Microsoft has not even made any announcements related to a new console.

Second, Sony has repeatedly stated that they're aiming for a 10 year console generation this time around, meaning that the PS4 isn't due out until sometime around 2014... so I don't know where the heck you're getting the idea that it's coming out next year.

Well, I've got a PS3 now and haven't had it a year yet and I would really recommend it. I doubt the ps4 will be coming out in the next year because it will have to be a pretty big leap from the current one and that will take several years. Also, sony are bringing out motion control or the PS THREE, so i think they will keep it around for quite a while yet.

Im not sure about the xbox because i don't think they have confirmed a release date for project natal. Well, the didn't at E3... I wouldn't recommend the xbox anyway because i have a PS3 but thats just my opinion.

Its gonna be a couple more years before a new xbox or ps4 come out. Project Natal isnt a new console its like a game/software for xbox 360

theres no new systems coming out in 2010; Project Natal is just an advanced PS Eye Toy for the 360 and Sony has a 10 year plan for the Playstation, which, if they stick to, means we wont see a new console from them until 2016 (even if they dont, its going to be a few more years before anything new) and theres nothing set in stone on Microsoft's end either for a whole new console

if your not a serious gamer then a more improved console won't make a difference. so just get a PS3 or XBOX 360 now instead of waiting for the new ones.

Natal is just an add on to 360 and PS4 is YEARS away...get a 360

i think they will not make another console because PS3 and Xbox 360 is the max graphic solution they had made ..

its impossible to make the games more real or more HD..

i think they will just upgrade the ps3 and the xbox..

which can be buy separately..

the consoles that are out now will be out for a long time since you can upgrade them. they will most likely last more than a decade.

Get a PS3 you can go online for free and there aren't any new systems coming out soon.
