What is right etiquette behind texting?

I was texting someone, they answered. Then I asked another question and they didn't answer. I waited for some time then texted again, they answered. But, they never answered my previous question. Then, they stopped answering me again. Would you say the etiquette behind this involving texting would say they do not want to talk to me? They talk to me other times so it doesn't seem to me that they do not want to talk to me at all. Your etiquette thinking about this? Thanks.

Update:

Well, I agree with Misslabled but I do notice how many people when I am talking to them take time to answer their texts when they could wait until later. That is why I thought they would get back to me as they have texted while in class or trying to study with them myself.

They probably have to pay for texts (receiving and sending) and didn't want to waste money on what they thought was unnecessary or could have waited. It's also possible that they went to sleep, work, a movie, or for some other reason had their phone off. Texting is also sort of rude for a long conversation. One question? Sure. A conversation? Act like you care and call them.

The poor etiquette is expecting people to drop everything and respond to your texts. I know that many people improperly give priority to their seemingly surgically attached wireless devices, but one should never assume that just because you're bored, idle, and unoccupied everyone you want to text is, too, or willing to stop what they're doing to respond. Answering a text is, or should be, LAST priority. Yes, they are saying, "Stop bothering me, I'm busy, I'll respond when it's convenient for me."
