What should we do if we purchased a car with a warranty and the car lot didn't submit the warranty money?

We purchased a 2007 car and when we called about the warranty, the warranty company didn't have any record of the warranty. We actually consulted an attorney and he said to try to work it out with the car lot first. If that didn't work, we can retain him to handle it. We have visited the car lot several times and also called. We keep getting told that they are trying to get the owner to resolve it but they can't get in touch with him. We did get the car repaired and paid for it ourselves. The attorney did say that we have a case because it is breach of contract. We just don't want to spend more money on an attorney when we just had to pay to have the car repaired. Any suggestions?

Insist that your lawyer write a letter to the car lot (a relatively cheap fee). It sounds as if they took your money but didn't purchase a policy. This is strictly illegal and they could be fined or go to jail for this. Another avenue would be to report this to your state, consumer protection office and also to the state insurance commissioner and to your local BBB. Keep those repair receipts along with the receipt showing you paid for the warranty and only provide copies of them if you are asked to. Keep the originals !

You have to file the complaint with the local district attorney, and sue the car dealer in court.

If you have a copy of your warranty agreement, you can sue in small claims without an attorney. There is always judge judy as well

unless you can get the guy to give you the money back you are screwed/you should have made the payment check to the warranty company in the warranty company name/nextime you will remember
