if you have the new yahoo! mail, it's a lot easier to do it in classic mode and then change back to new mode. to change, go to options in the top right corner of the screen and click "change to yahoo! mail classic." proceed to do the steps below listed under "if you have yahoo! classic mail." after you are done with that, click options in the right hand corner again and switch back to whichever mail format you had. here are instructions for both:

If you have the new yahoo email:

-on the top left it says Yahoo! Mail, "Hi, (your name)," your messenger status, and "Sign Out." Click on where it says "Hi, (your name)."

    - on the drop down menu, click "Account Info"

-it will ask you to sign in again. do so.

-under "Profile Information" click "Edit Profile Details"

-it may ask you to enable people to search for you with your name. click "get started" or whichever option comes up. then, click the tab that says "account info" at the top of your page and press "edi account info."

-if not, it should automatically provide spaces to change your display name

-change it to the name you want, and then press save

If you have Yahoo! classic mail:

-click "options" at the top right, and click "mail options."

-change the "from name" to whatever you want

    -save

    It's easy.

You just need to change the "from line" setting.

Mail page>>options (top right)>>mail options>> and the "general" page opens.

Near the top of that page----erase the name that shows on the From line and type in something else---a nickname or an alias-- or whatever suits you-----then click "save" changes at the top of page.

Just in case you're using the "New Mail".

Mail page>>options>>mail options>>accounts (side panel)>>add/edit an account>>Yahoo mail (side panel)>>edit>>general preferences----and change it and save it.
