IN DESPERATE NEED OF HELP: i am alive, but not living.?

I have a medical problem which the doctors cannot solve. They did every test possible, but they confirmed that everything is normal.

Ever since I had my son (10 yrs ago) I have been having extreme fatigue. I cannot energize myself. I feel weak and tired for no reason at all. It happens spontaneously, wherever I may be.

I eat healthy, I am an active person, I am mentally well, yet I get sleepy all the time.Out of a month, there are probably 5 days that I feel "normal".

What could be wrong with me???!! I want to wake up and do things, but this condition

keeps me in bed. I end up sleeping more than 10 hours a day. It seems like I have no life.

I want to live; do the things I need and want to do.

(Doctors gave me 3 options: birth control pills, prozac, or yoga. I do not want to take bcp or prozac pills because of its side effect. Yoga does not help.)

Please help me find solutions as to what it could be and what I could do. I am grateful for any other possibility.

God bless.

Update:

I have taken energy drinks & pills, but they dont last. I still get sleepy & go downhill afterwards. That goes for organic pills too. My dr said I do not fall in the CFS, so that is out of the question.

Honey, what you have described fits the definition of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). Read more about it in these two Web articles:

    http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/chronic-fatigue-s...

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronic_fatigue_syndr...

Too many doctors fail to diagnose CFS. In fact, a lot of doctors refuse to believe it is an illness. And even if you find a sympathetic and understanding doctor, CFS is hard to treat. The current thinking is that CFS may be an auto-immune disease, but frankly, no one really knows for sure. That does NOT make it phony, but a lot of doctors act as if it is.

You may want to check out the Chronic Fatigue and Immune Disease Society, which you can do here:

    http://www.cfids.org/

But your first job is to find the right doctor, who will treat your disease with understanding. Get going. And yes, I know how hard that is. ;-) Good luck!!

What kind of doctors recommend three different kinds of options like that. Birth control pills do not give you energy, Prozac is for depression only, Yoga takes time to activate strength and energy but only if you continue it. Try energy drinks for they give you a start up kick that may break you out of the doldrums.

I'll leave you with a nice quote:

Life is nothing but an accumulation of many breaths. So every breath is just a precious diamond which cannot be purchased with anything in the world. It is a priceless jewel which has got no substitute in value. So in movements and talks, and in sorrows and happiness, such a priceless breath should not be spent in vain. To destroy it is to court destruction. An intelligent man cannot lose it.

Surely the doctors would have checked for low iron or low blood pressure, but you may want to make sure. Either of these could cause your symptoms. I hope you find your answer!
