Are 2008 scion xb's safe?

I know toyota had a recall and lexus too.

There cars are taking off accelerating at high speeds on there own and the brakes wont work.

The company tries to downplay the problem by blaming on the floor mats and everyone believes them. Anyway just wonderin if anybody knows if the scions are trippin too?

Thanks

The second generation Scion xB is one of the National Institute of Highway Safety's top picks

"Criteria: The Institute rates vehicles good, acceptable, marginal, or poor based on performance in high-speed front and side crash tests plus evaluations of seat/head restraints for protection against neck injuries in rear impacts. The first requirement for a vehicle to become a TOP SAFETY PICK is to earn good ratings in all three Institute tests. Another requirement is that winning vehicles must offer electronic stability control. This requirement is based on Institute research indicating that ESC significantly reduces crash risk, especially the risk of fatal single-vehicle crashes, by helping drivers maintain control of their vehicles during emergency maneuvers."

Toyota's acceleration problem was with the floormats and there was no downplaying of this issue. Toyota instigated the recall to correct the problem of the floormat wedging under the accelerator pedal and holding it down. My next door neighbor and my sister both had vehicles that were affected.

Scions are safe. Scion is a company toyota founded. Toyota is like the parent company. Scion is its own brand and cars.

There. This is proving that they are very safe. Even showing very minimal damage to the dummy which means the cars passengers will be ok with very little pain.
