From the past... about IQ testing?

Okay I'm old (62) but something's been bugging me most of my life. Upon entering High School (1961-1965), we took tests which we were told were IQ tests. As a Freshman, and as a result of those tests, I was placed in what they called "Honors" or "College Prep" courses. Also did very well on Air Force testing. Been pretty sucessful.

MY Question... Although I've been able to "purchase" my High School and College transcripts, I've never been able to find out my IQ score. I was always told that IQ scores could not be given out although I haven't tried in decades. Is there any way to find out? Are there IQ score records from that far back even though the transcripts are still there?

Now, since retired, I wonder about this. Just for the heck of it............

As Meg said, there is no way of finding out now, also there are many types of test and it's not possible to say how 'accurate' your test was, it should have been quite good if it was in High School.

As you know the average IQ is 100 and it sounds as if you are obviously higher than that.

But what's this about being old? I took a MENSA test at about the same time as you did, at that time I was measured at 145, I'm now 67 and have recently retaken it for the 'heck of it' as you say, MENSA told me that they don't give out a figure anymore but that I was still in the top 2% which is around 148 and qualifies you for membership.

Until father time starts to affect your mental capacity, your IQ can actually increase a little with age as your life experience helps you in problem solving.

Your not too old to take another one if your interested.

There isn't a database of all IQ tests out there, because there are many different forms of IQ tests out there. They are all given by different companies and have different scales. If you took the SAT there may be a way to find out that score (try asking collegeboard.com or your high school), and then the scale score can be compared to IQ percentiles at http://www.iqcomparisonsite.com/Pre1974SAT.aspx (if the score is higher than 1280, go to http://www.iqcomparisonsite.com/oldSATIQ.aspx).

This won't give you an exact measure of your performance on the IQ test, but it will give you an idea of what it should have been.

properly in case you cheated to get a some distance better score it might shrink the cost of the attempt...I advise I scored fairly plenty on mine (152 IQ) and that became alongside time in the past...i would not % to renowned my score became faked in any way...
