Is this daft or what ?

Question

OK, I come up with daft ideas now and then, but does this one "take the biscuit"

During 2009, four of us man-handled an old upright piano into my boat.

It sits near the pot-belly stove, and is usually adorned with beer glasses.

This is silly, as the temperature changes has sent it madly out of tune.
The beers don't help either.

Would you attempt such a project, or are you rightly wiser than me ?

It sounds like a brilliant project. I would have attempted it if I owned a piano and a boat. Sadly I do not own either of those items. 

Have you ever read the books, a "Piano in the Pyranees" or "Round Ireland with a Fridge" by Tony Hawks? It seems that you can have a lot of fun taking your household items to places where they're not supposed to be. Sir, I salute you.

That stove sounds like it's been at the beer too long....does it get a sing-song round the piano?

One of the lovely humurous excercises we were given in the Army was to get a full 40-gallon oil drum over the top of a 50-foot conifer hedge, across the frozen canal without busting the ice, and onto a 4-ton Bedford truck which would be waiting a few miles away at the other side of Frensham Little Pond if the driver thought it would actually be worth while turning up there. There's a river in the way too. They dreamed that up  just right, bar stewards.
No roads allowed.
Two drums, two teams, winners get a 48-hour pass.
Done in four hours and ten minutes....dead heat.
Well, you've got to look after your mates...that's what it's about in the Forces. They're your life......
