NYPD emergency service unit?

Im really interested in getting into the nypd esu. im a NYS EMT-B and i plan on joining the air force reserves. what more do i need t6o get me in to the esu unit?

    Besides required qualifications for their law enforcement and home land securities duties, the ESU officers are also rescue and HazMat technicians. The ESU has within their ranks a medical doctor, several physician's assistants, registered nurses and each officer is certified as a New York EMT-D. There are quite a few forums on Google which explain this more in detail.

    It won't hurt.Stay in marine shape. Weapons training won't hurt but won't help a lot either.The physical requirements for ESU are great. You have to be a super excellent patrol officer for about 5 years before you can apply.
