Do you think Tony Stewart did good in his first season with his new organization?
Just think ! If Tonys performances were just average results in his first year with his new organization, and he improves in his second season, (because you just do). Do you think
Tony Stewart could finish even higher in the points standings in 2010, than he did in 2009?
For all the Tony Stewart fans, that's could be a pretty exciting pattern forming.

He proved many wrong. Good for him. And for those who think Hendrick cars made it possible, keep this in mind: Haas CNC racing was already using Hendrick cars and support long before Tony came into the picture.

Good is an understatement. All the forecasts had him doing pretty badly. And look how well Newman finished as well. It's interesting how some people want to give all the credit for his success to being in superior equipment while others want to claim that equipment had nothing to do with it. Since he has already won two championships, it's completely fair to say he is far superior to any driver that Haas CNC had. However, Hendrick worked more closely with this team than past teams. Still, the extra burden of being an owner had to be quite a lot. Despite all the added responsibilites, at the end of the first 26 races, Tony Stewart was the points leader. And he still manages to put on the Prelude to the Dream and run more than a handful of dirt track races. Too bad the Chase system negated all his hard work. I definitely think he has the potential to do even better next year.

Well, considering that Tony "won" the "regular" 2009 Cup "championship" and Ryan finished in the top 10, YEAH, he did much better than most of the NASCAR "experts" thought Stewart/Haas Racing would do.
I believe that if Tony could have had more consistency in his finishes, and Jimmie not have been so "lucky", Tony would have been the 2009 Champion. I also think Tony and Ryan will do as good, if not better, in 2010.

A team like JGR will concentrate on ALL of their drivers, not just one. They have too much going on around their team right now anyway... JGR needs to prove wrong 75% of the racing world that they made a good decision by throwing Joey Lagano into the Home Depot machine. Hamlin is an established driver in the Cup series, JGR wants him to have the best season possible. Yes, half the racing world is betting the farm that Kyle is the man to beat, but I'm not so sure. I think Kyle will finish top 5 in points, I just don't think he will finish top two or three...

You gotta give him huge props for the season he (and Newman) had considering that neither team has ever done anything in the past even with the same Hendrick cars. Owning/running a team is a huge responsibility to pile on top of driving the car which is why so few people do it and even fewer have any success.

I think the teams did awesome both of them finished in the top 10 and that is saying a lot about a first year organization!

I think that Stewart surprised a lot of people
It's hard to be an owner/driver
Very few are successful at it
I'm looking forward to seeing him run even better next year

I think he finished well above many people's expectations. Even though he has good equipment it takes a lot of thought, planning and patience to make a team gel and perform like his teams did this year. I'm sure they'll do even better next year.

Yes, but just think of how he would have done without HMS supporting him in every way. He was driving the same stuff as all the other HMS drivers.
I would have been a lot more impressed if he had done it by himself. This whole deal was set-up before he even told JGR he was leaving. And I don't want to hear any of that old brand loyalty stuff. He didn't like Kyle Busch stealing his thunder. Heck, his pardner was in jail at the time this deal was cut! Rick wanted two more cars on track for whatever reason and Stewart/Hass had the money. He will soon realize that he is not dealing with Joe Gibbs, who helped him to two championships.
Regardless of what he does business wise, I still think he is one of the top two drivers out there week in and week out!
I enjoy watching him race!!!
