Yes it's usually okay. When eating, people are mostly worried about the eggs in cookie dough, because they don't know what diseases are contained inside, but with mass produced cookie dough they use safe eggs usually. Even when eating homemade cookie dough you have to watch out, you just want to make sure you know where the eggs come from.

There could be salmonella in it but it's not likely since they use pasteurized eggs and the products are tested for diseases. But eating half the tub will probably give you diarrhea.
