.357 out of a .38 cobra derringer?

I've heard that a .357 magnum round can be fired through a .38 cobra derringer since the bore is long enough, is there any truth to this?

    NO!

A .38 Special round can be fired from a .357 Magnum gun, but NEVER the other way around! The .357 Mag and .38 Spc use the same diameter bullet, but the Mag is too much power for a gun that isn't built to handle it.
