  • how do I acquire an abandoned vehicle?

    OK, firstly, I'm in California.

There is a car in my apartment complex that is about tp be towed since it is not current on its registration. Does anyone know anyway I can talk to the DMV to see how I can acquire this vehicle if it is abandoned? what paperwork is involved and what is this procedure called?

If the car does get towed, I can only imagine that it will be impounded for a certain amount of time and it will go up for auction.

  • how to register a vehicle after a trade?

Ok, we've all seen the ads on craigslist; someone needs to sell their car but they are willing to trade for something else. How does the trade system work DMV wise? I'm in California by the way.

Do I need to "buy" the vehicle and make up a price for DMV purposes or does the DMV determine registration price by the value of the traded car?

  • does descending too quickly have any bad effects on health?

Ok, going up too fast from the sea floor (for arguments sake) causes the benz and nitrogen bubbles to form and kill you....well........does descending from too high an altitude do anything significant?

for instance, sky divers who fall from too high without proper oxygen end up passing out. Are there any other descent speed related illnesses or deaths?

  • Mens facial hair in Islam?

I'm kind of curious to know what the rules or laws were regarding beards in Islam. Are they required? preferred? totally optional?

I am not trying to offend anyone with this. I am just curious on the subject since I have never really heard this issue addressed formally.

I am aware that some forms of Islam such as Wahhabism (I am sorry If I am incorrect on this, it is just what I have read) require all men to grow their beards. Are there any verses in the Koran or the Hadith that speak of this subject?

I am curious also about people who do not necessarily have enough facial hair to grow a beard; is shaving allowed Or is it Haraam?

    Thank you for your answers.

  • what else besides palm oil and lard produce a hard bar of soap?

I don't really have access to palm oil in my area and I don't like using animal products like lard in my soap. What else produces a nice hard bar of soap? Would vegetable shortening work? it is high in saturated fats and is solid at room temperature. I was under the impression that hydrogenated oils (like coconut and palm) produce hard soaps.

  • How is Dr. Bronner's soap made? how is any liquid based soap made for that matter.?

Ok, we have all seen those big bottles in the store. I have always wondered how soap can be rendered into a liquid. From my knowledge once a fat has saponified it turns into a solid. If this is the case, what causes Dr. Bronner's to stay in a fluid state?

  • How to revive a Dead Ducati?

I have a ducati that's been sitting around for over a year, without starting it, with a flat tire (that was the reason it started sitting) I never took the battery out either. The bike ran beautifully when I parked it.

I have a feeling that all the fuel in it has turned to varnish and the injectors are going to be clogged.

So here is my dilemma, I want to get this bike back on the road, I plan on changing the oil and filter; popping in a new battery and letting the chain sit in ATF for about a week.

As far as the fuel tank and injectors go, what would be the best way to clear them out? A friend of mine suggested letting diesel sit in the tank and letting the injectors soak in diesel for a while just to break everything apart and clear up the lines. obviously after the soaking period I would need to make sure ALL the diesel is out to prevent damage to the engine. Would this work? any more information would be appreciated!!

  • Why does god give us tools to doubt his existence?

As humans, we are given certain emotions, thoughts, and gifts like skepticism and critical thinking to determine what is real and what is not.

So why is it that god has given me all these tools to use them against me if I do not believe in him? why do I have to view the bible as the supreme authority and word when it comes to how the world works?

The earth, according to biblical scholars is said to be around 6000 years old.... why is it that science has shown us that the earth is far, far older.......the most recent dinosaur bones are millions upon millions of years old, were those placed here to test my faith? why would god play such a cruel trick on us to prove his existence?

Why would such a supreme, omnipotent being cause so much pain in someones life just to prove a point? I knew a few devout Christians who suffered some horrible, painful deaths in Iraq even though they had such faith in a loving, caring god.

Why does god allow people who speak to him to commit horrible acts? When people in the old testament killed people, it was the will of god, yet today, it is considered murder....why is that?

Why is it that god only spoke to a relatively few people to spread his word? nowadays if you say you have talked to god people think you are a nut who needs to be locked up and medicated. don't you think after 2000 years it is time to add another chapter to the bible?

here's another question, how long have people been going to hell? I mean, if scientific evidence shows that modern people (homo sapiens) have been on the planet for 200,000 years, does that mean people started going to hell after the bible was written? where did people go before the concept of hell was preached?

So after evidence like this (loads of other evidence I do not feel like typing) why would god curse me for doubting in him? I was given the gift of a high I.Q., good critical thinking skills and powers to judge and weigh evidence, does this mean that god is poling fun at me saying "i have given you a gift, you are going to use your brain and must be punished for it!"

why would such a peaceful, loving creator do this? Why would he send them to eternal damnation for giving him gifts such as these?
