My son is in fourth grade and this year for Christmas was asked to get something for the classroom...?
They aren't doing a gift exchange with each other. The teacher wants items for use in the classroom. What would you buy?

Have you spoken with the teacher to see if she has a wish list for the classroom?
By the way, I love her idea! I don't think parents realize how much of the classroom material is provided out of the teacher's own pocket.
What about items that the kids would need, like colored pencils or several reams of notebook paper?

This must mean the teacher needs supplies. Ask your son what they need in the class. I think I would get a gift card to staples, Barnes and Noble, walmart, so the teacher can buy what she needs...or Tomorrow, have your son ask the teacher what they need for the class, then have him choose what to get.

A good pencil sharpener. We never had one that was good and it made doodling very hard.
