Skipping through AIT?

I am home on Christmas Exodus now and have two weeks before I graduate BCT when i get back. I enlisted under ACASP and was told that my AIT would be shorter because I am already trained in my MOS (88M). Is this true? Just wondering how this process works since nobody can give me a straight answer. Thank you for any info you can give me.

The people I know who enlisted under ACASP as 88Ms didn't even go to AIT, just basic training. They may have looked at your records and decided what you were trained in and what you still need a refresher on, and are basing your AIT on that. While you are home you might want to discuss it with your unit.
