The agricultural "red" diesel is just exempt from road taxes as it's intended use is on the farm and not on the roads however if you are using regular diesel which has road taxes built into the price, you can still deduct those taxes from your income taxes, just keep track of your mileage and keep receipts for your fuel. An easy way to do this would be to use one of those USB GPS key fobs to prove that you're not using the diesel on the road.
