TMZ announced that due to their success with their stories on Tiger Woods scandal they will open a website->?

Dedicated to getting into the personal lives of Sports Athletes similar to their site/show about the personal lives of Hollywood Celebrities. What are your thoughts on this & will you watch something like this? I personally think it's pathetic how many people care about the personal lives of people whether it's Celebrities or Athletes. How does their personal business affect us? I know this isn't really a Baseball question but this will affect all sports & thought it would be interesting to get your thoughts on this.

Update:

I never saw TMZ before this announcement & will surely not watch it now just b/c they will add sports athletes in their garbage show of gossip & nonsense.

As long as there are people who watch, it will be aired. I don't care, in fact, I'm sick of celebrities dirty laundry being thrown in our faces. I want good stories, not stories about scum who further drive the morality levels down in society. Each time another celebrity/athlete messes up we get to hear about it. Why can't we just leave their personal lives alone? People start to think it's okay if some hot shot athlete is doing something wrong, than they can.

If anything, their personal lives make others think they themselves aren't so bad. So what is that doing...effect: shoots the morals of others right down the toilet.

That's the stupidest and most pathetic thing i've ever heard. I've only watched TMZ once, and it was totally pointless. Like i care about what restaurants celebrities eat at, what stores they shop at, their new tattoos, their sex lives, etc. I like to see their movies, hear their songs, and watch them play a sport. That's it. If it's introduced into sports, it won't do anything good for it. You KNOW they're itching to find some dirt on Jeter or any other athlete that's labeled "clean and perfect" similar to how Woods was before the scandal.

TMZ is just stupid they stalk people for a living I mean come on... who really cares about other people's lives? (well i guess that's a stupid question and even a hypocritical one in my part because sometimes I do wish to know a little bit of background on a person and his/her family but that's beyond the point) Athletes should be left alone especially they aren't celebrities. They get paid to play a kid's sport.

Oh jeez that is completely pathetic. Do they actually think people truly care about the personal lives of athletes, and will go out of their way to go on the computer and look at the website everyday to learn things about people they don't know and will never meet? Well unfortunately I know there ARE some people like that out there but seriously... that's just so stupid. TMZ annoys me and it always has. These athletes (and celebrities) are regular people just like you and I and they should be respected and given their privacy, not have websites and TV shows dedicated to exploiting them and their lives and own personal business. It's just dumb. I know everyones been talking about Tiger and the controversy that's been surrounding him, but to go out of your way to create a whole website dedicated to things like that.. pathetic. Those people have no lives.

  • I agree with everyone elses comments and thoughts. I don't think I would watch it because I really don't watch a lot of TMZ. It will be one of those websites that I visit every now and then because I am sure they will have the first scoop on everything on sports players.

TMZ has become a even bigger joke now, with this. I could careless what goes on in Sports Athletes personal lives...it's their business, no one else's. I'm sure ESPN and other media will have lots more fun breaking down the personal lives of Sports Athletes.

I'm not a big sports fan except for maybe nascar, but tmz is nothing more than a gossip column and you have to take anything they say with a grain of salt,

or maybe a whole pound of salt.

I am so sick of hearing about Tiger, they should just leave him alone to work things out and if he doesn't,then still leave him alone.

just because these people are celebrities,it doesn't mean they are our personal property.

    God bless.

I won't watch anything that talks about any-ones personal life. What Tiger did mat have been wrong, but the women knew he was married. I say leave the guy alone, let him work it out without a bunch of media idiots snooping around. Maybe someone needs to look into their personal life and broadcast it everyday.

Money is the root of all evil.

I don't care what's going on in my favorite athlete's personal life. I only care what he's doing on the field, whenever I heard something about Tiger Woods on the news I turn it off.

I think its disgusting. They harrass these celebs by asking stupid questions and then they bad mouth them if the celebs get angry. Its taken the whole papparazzi bit to a new low. I hate TMZ and theres no way I would watch a spin off of that crap
