What is a "concealment charge?"?

I took a phone call earlier this evening from what I assume was a collection agency. The person asked to speak to my brother--who lives with me--and when I informed them that he wasn't home, they asked that I have him call them back and that if he didn't do so soon, they would press concealment charges.

I live in Illinois. What is a "concealment charge" in regards to debt collection?

Trust me, the collection people are just trying to scare you. When I was behind on my credit cards they made all sorts of threats but they only rattle cages to get money from people. There is no charge they can press on you. debt collection is a civil matter and not a criminal one. Concealement charge refers to concealed weapons and the like, whoever that fool is he is just pulling your leg

They're shining you on. First, they are not allowed to tell you why they are calling. It's your brother's private business, not yours.

Second, they can't do anything at all to you. Tell them to go pound sand.
