What should a computer tech have in his tool box?

So for christmas my parents said they would help me 'stock' my tool kit with 'GOOD' tools insted of no-name crap ones, so I'm wondering a few things here

1: whats a good brand to stick with?

2: what would you think is 'needed' by a computer repair technician?

Things I KNOW I'll want / need (no idea on brand yet heh)

1: RJ45 crimpers

2: RJ45 tester

3: Screwdriver (or multi-driver)

4: Grounding mat / strap

5: Power supply Tester

6: USB key (along with cds for older computers)

7: Air Canister

8: Wire strippers / cutters

9: Needle Nose Pliers

I already got me some thermal paste...

thats really all I can think of off the top of my head, anyways what else should I get and what brands would you go with?

(I live in Ontario, Canada, so IF possible limit stores to Canadian based stores like tigerdirect.ca, newegg.ca, ncix.com, directcanada.com....ect....

Update:

@ Johnyyyy, thanks but I'm not looking for a 'smartass' answer here, I know I am probally going to need alot more, thats why I'm asking....

@ Meth, thanks never thought of that, guess I could add a soldering kit to that list as well :P, I have had to replace a capacitor on my 4870 once ;D, forgot to plug a fan in and poof, >_< lol

@ Mercuri, thanks

@ Notnow uhhhh no it doesn't help....

@ Mark never thought of a multi-meter but it does make sence as a psu tester would only do a psu

-Backup Equipment (extra usb cables, empty cds)

    -Spare CD burner

-Reformatting Discs (this will bring your computer back to life in case any viruses try to hit your motherboard)

-A feather duster (or something to get dust out) so you can clean dust out of the big computer stuff.

-Another wire for your computer (just in case) If you have a laptop, get a battery as well.

Most of this stuff you can get in radio shack or target/ walmart. I hope this helps increasing your list. Lots of $$$ though..

    Hi SeanC,

That list is perfect! Don't forget to include an online

servicing if you are planning to have this as your

full time business! Now a days, you really need to

adapt with the market. Try to visit this site:

    http://ad.trwv.net/t.pl/41289/205972

I'm using this to service people who are too far to

reach, as in across the globe (if you know what I mean).

    Hope this helps

    PS:

The income is worth it and I know you'll thank me soon! Good luck my friend

Invest in a good digital multimeter. It is a excellent tool when you have to track the flow of electricity with out having to swap out a part.

Haha. My computer tool bag consists of a screw driver (philips head #2) and a little hex screw driver that's suitable for putting in motherboard spacers. That's it.

Anyway, Snap-On and Xcelite are excellent brands.

    - IDE/Sata Converter

    -Set of pliers

    -Flashlight, Mini-Mag < always helpful

    -wire stripper pliers

    -15 Pcs. Tool kit

    -5in side cutter pliers

-Hiren's BootCD 10.1 < all above for hardware and just one for software trouble shooting.

The most entertaining part of our job is to go for TOOL SHOPPING .LOL.

According to my own experience, there are many bags out there but honestly you will lose your money if you buy one of these bags.At first, I decided to get one of them but finally changed my mind to put all those bags aside and make my own Blue-IRON kit to name it MINE. I wet to different stores and looked around for handy stuffs. it was just so fun so Don't do it fast and enjoy your shopping problem.
