  • Car isn't starting?

    I've got a 2004 Chrysler (-doge?-) Intrepid SE, 2.7L

Lately it's been having issues starting, usually a 1 second boost was all that was needed (this had made me assume it was the battery) the other day I had charged it, and this morning it's having more issues.

I'll turn the key, I'll hear a good solid "click" and thats all.

Any ideas on what the heck is wrong with it?

  • File upload script with user login / admin panel for FREE?

I have my own server that I pay for

I have unlimited space / bandwidth

I have already checked with my host and they are fine for letting me use it for this purpose.

now here's what I'm looking for.

I have a PC gaming clan, and I want my user's to be able to upload there gamer profiles FOR BACKUP PURPOSES ONLY, how-ever I don't want other user's to be able to see there uploads and be able to download,

so I'm thinking I am in need of a user system to do this, I am also wanting a way to cap the file size on the upload.

I have been doing some looking and found http://filerun.com/ its EXACTLY what I want how-ever the price tag is well.... not so nice :(, if someone could find that, but free that would be GREAT!

  • Guitar + PC, one headset, help?

So what I have is 2 bass guitars, I have them being fed into a Eden bass amp (it only allows for a single input & output)

now this playing over speaker, and comp playing over speakers worked great when I lived with my parents

how-ever I have now moved out, so now my problem is, I can't play the bass loud (as loud as I would like at least) so what I want to do is have the music from computer & the sound from the guitar amp go to a SINGLE set of headphones

I don't want to pour a tonn of music into this, so a 'pro mixamp' like device is out of the plan

I have already tried to go from amp to pc's mic-in how-ever the quality sucks, there is alot of static feedback.

I do live near Manitoba, Canada so before you recommend products make sure I can get them in my area please ;)

  • How do you search a text file fast and output only the results?

heres what I have to work with, I have a whole bunch of logs, the logs look like (see below)

    2010-09-11 00:04:17|J|16| michael|

    2010-09-11 00:04:17|J|11| Wayne|

    2010-09-11 00:04:18|J|6| James|

    2010-09-11 00:04:18|J|7| Trianglered|

    2010-09-11 00:04:18|J|3| Matthew|

    2010-09-11 00:04:18|J|1| ktate|

    2010-09-11 00:04:18|J|4| Mishnecof|

    2010-09-11 00:04:18|J|9| Jason|

    2010-09-11 00:04:18|J|10| Grunt|

    2010-09-11 00:04:24|J|5| John|

    2010-09-11 00:05:47|J|1| Ken|

    2010-09-11 00:05:54|J|2| Mitch|

what I would like to do is search these logs for certian things and then have them output to a page or SOMETHING, sure I could use ctrl+f but searching threw a log with litterly THOUSANDS of lines take a LOOOONG time now the catch is this (X = values that WILL change)

    X|J|X| Mitch|

what I want to search for is |J| and there name (in my logs this means they joined) so I can't use ctrl+f now because there is the value that can change BETWEEN there name & J.....

  • is it possible to record 'Live' video and then 'stream' that live video using a CAMERA?

alright so heres what we want to do

Camera > Ustream with almost no time delay

we will be going to local skate competition and would love to have the video broadcast 'live' I know the camera will probably be a few grand but price is no object... well it is but we are willing to spend what is needed

so how would we go about doing this / what cameras are able to do this?

another thing we thought of is, would it be possible to have a camera 'stream live' to a PC, and have that PC output the video to ustream?, we'd be a fair distance away from the laptop as well, so if this is the way it has to be done, how close to the laptop do we have to be?

  • What should a computer tech have in his tool box?

So for christmas my parents said they would help me 'stock' my tool kit with 'GOOD' tools insted of no-name crap ones, so I'm wondering a few things here

1: whats a good brand to stick with?

2: what would you think is 'needed' by a computer repair technician?

Things I KNOW I'll want / need (no idea on brand yet heh)

    1: RJ45 crimpers

    2: RJ45 tester

    3: Screwdriver (or multi-driver)

    4: Grounding mat / strap

    5: Power supply Tester

6: USB key (along with cds for older computers)

    7: Air Canister

    8: Wire strippers / cutters

    9: Needle Nose Pliers

I already got me some thermal paste...

thats really all I can think of off the top of my head, anyways what else should I get and what brands would you go with?

(I live in Ontario, Canada, so IF possible limit stores to Canadian based stores like tigerdirect.ca, newegg.ca, ncix.com, directcanada.com....ect....

  • Looking for a CMS that will....?

1: I would like to be able to have 'pages' where I can write an 'about me' page, have links (or better, embedded) youtube videos of speed-paints.

2: I would like 'anonymous' users to be able to comment on the images.

3: Language selector, as I would like to have an 'English' and 'French' version of the website.

4: If POSSIBLE I would like to 'disable' right clicking, so I am able to have 'high-res' images without a water-mark and wont have to worry about people stealing my images, I know you can still 'steal' the images but right clicking will stop most people and thats good enough for me.

I would do something by hand, but I just dont have the time to do this... any help would be great!
