Router to Switch not working any help would be GREAT!?

Alrighty, so heres the setup

Linksys WRT-160N > Linksys SD208 switch, now it works GREAT at lan's (the switch) and I tested the switch where I work... and it works (surprise?) how-ever when I take it home and hook it upto my Linksys WRT-160N it DOES NOT WORK

DHCP IS enabled (192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.249)

so what else is there?.... am I just a dumbass or did I miss something?

Update:

Alrighty....

1: the computers hooked upto router alone works fine (so I KNOW its not the router being pickey)

2: at work with the 'upstream' plugged into port 1 I had internet on the OTHER ports

3: the switch works 'on a lan' (I have used this EXACT switch at MANY lan parties and it worked great without any issues

Update 2:

Hmmmm didn't think about the crossover, I'll give that a shot in the morning and see if it works out!

Get on the phone with Ian and go through the 160N's option settings one by one until you find one that differs between your two machines. Try changing that and see if it fixes the problem.

    Good luck.

See if you can connect directly to the router with one laptop or PC and have that work.

All the switch does is allow more than one device to connect to the upstream network. If there is a problem with the upstream, then the switch is useless.

Also, check the documentation for the port descriptions. Some switches have a specific port dedicated for upstream traffic, and all the others for downstream. Some switches don't care. I believe linksys is in the former category. That is, there is only one port the router should connect to, so make sure that's the one.

Have a crossover? I think the auto crossover of your WRT-160N must be busted.
