Is Masturbation bad? My girlfriend does it and she's a Christian she says its okay but is it bad in God's eyes?

The goal of the Christian life is to be pure in thought and deed. I believe that the issue of masturbation comes down to this. Therefore, I believe that though masturbation under certain circumstances may not be sinful, the desire to be sexual pure and holy should move the Christian to avoid it. Instead, he or she should seek to master the body and not give into its desires. The fight against masturbation can be a lesson in controlling the body which can have great spiritual benefits. Giving in to masturbation can have spiritual consequences and mastering the body can bring great spiritual benefit. Perhaps God did not mention masturbation the Bible because He is so aware of our sinful tendencies, our situations, our difficulties, etc., and desires that we seek holiness and purity by seeking to master our own flesh. If God had declared that it was not a sin, then we can rest assured that we would misuse the act and become enslaved by it.

If, however, you are bound by masturbation and war against it because it masters you, then you continually need to go to the cross and ask the Lord to forgive you. Also, pray and ask the Lord to provide you a spouse so that you would not fall into bondage of the flesh.

I'm christian but I don't think its bad ?

a lot of people use the verse in 1 corinthians to back up their opinion, but it does NOT solidly state that masturbation is bad. not all people masturbate to their neighbors wives, do they now?

Also, the verse examples us about the unitation of you and god and the sin of the unitation of a prostitute and god, because they have sold their body for dirty money.

people just jump to the conclusion that it is implying that, though I think that people who assume they know what god means is the bigger sin ..

There is nothing wrong in masterbation. Each and every man/ women do it. It is pleasure and relieves you of pressure. Either to perform sex or do it is MUST.All religious persons are also doing. The only thing some acceot it, some dont, but they are doing.

so go ahead and use some lubricant to protect yr genitals.

I'm unaware of any verse (there could be though) that forbids masturbation, however, sexual fantasies are definately a sin.

That being said, Jesus told us "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?" (1 Corinthians 6:19)

So if it's masturbation for health reasons (But uh, how often is that actually true?) then I'm sure god doesn't frown upon it.

Yes it is a sin in Christianity. God makes many things healthy, but masturbation is a very simplified form of sex, which is very healthy for you (if you subtract possible sexual or reproductive health problems).

No matter what the buy-bull says, masturbation is a NORMAL activity enjoyed by every human being. Also, it's healthy because it helps clear the sexual tubules, like flushing them, to help prevent cancer and blockages.

honestly man if your god wanted us not to do it he would make it inconceivable its all good its not like he is going to be like "well you masturbated looks like your going to hell" that doesn't even touch the threshold of things that you have to do to go to hell its all good and normal...just do what YOU feel is right not a book that was written 1000+ years ago...men are the ones who wrote the book NOT GOD always remember that.

It's completely natural and not bad at all. It's silly to think that it is. Remember that most of the laws of the church are not God's laws, but laws that human being put in order to prevent chaos and to help the church control people through implanting fear inside of them. Follow God's laws - those are the laws that are programmed inside of you, also known as instinct.

Masturbation is not a sin, anyone who thinks it is is a crazy person and should be locked up.
