Pineapple to Induce Labor?

Okay So Ive heard of TONS of ways to start labor on your own, And one of them is to eat Fresh Pineapple.

Supposedly it has some enzyme in it or something that helps. idk...Its worth a try and itll be a healthy change (I HATE pineapple)

I just wanted to know if You or Anyone has had this Actually work for them.

I've walked SOOOO much in the past few weeks and Even Yesterday I walked around (shopping) for The whole day and was so sore I couldnt hardly move!

Sex worked when i was 35 weeks, ( i went to the hospital with horrible Contractions and dilated to a 2) Anyways they sent me home and when I tried Sex again about 2 weeks Later......

It didnt Work that time!!!

And my best friend Used Castor Oil but had the Runs everywhere, So Thats not even an Option Im considering.

Anyways, Again, Did Pineapple work for you or Anyone you know? Or is there Something Else I can try besides Everything i listed?

It didn't work for me, but then I wasn't full term yet. It won't hurt to try. Good luck!

The only 'enzyme' in pineapple that may help induce labour, is the same effect of Castor oil.

It may only induce labour if you eat enough of it to give you the runs, that's why they suggest fresh pineapple, as the tinned stuff is just sugary watered down pineapple.

In turn, the runs may start the uterus to contract if the bowel cramps are bad enough....but a baby born from raging diarrhea just doesn't seem like a beautiful introduction into this world if you ask me.

There was the theory, that pineapple had a magical ingredient that entered the bloodstream and somehow got the uterus to start contracting, but medical science has proved that particular theory is just myth.

Really, I'd say just rest, or walking, or shopping to keep yourself busy. It seems silly that women spend their entire pregnancies living by the book, avoiding eating this, avoiding over-doing it, but somehow all that seems to fly out the window, and somehow it becomes acceptable to start taking medieval laxatives and other hocus pocus, just because it's near the end.

Reading your past questions, you seem to be in far too much of a rush to have this child. You must understand that there is considerable risk in trying to induce yourself before you are even close to the due date. We've all been there, but trust me, it is worth the wait to have a healthy little baby.

I don't know about this one. But im curious to know because i am 38 weeks and so ready to have my baby. Ive did the same thing you have. I walked so much around the mall shopping until i could hardly move. Haven't moved from 1cm yet. Been at 1cm since last week some time. Yea i heard castor oil really does work but you have to pay consequences of runs and upset tummy and really bad pains..its not worth it in my book. But im curious to know if pineapple works too. lol. But remember your not full term until 37 weeks so they may try to stop your labor if you go at 35 depending on your doctor.

for pineapple to work u would have to eat 7full size fresh pineapples. try giving your guy oral sex coz the stuff in his sperm goes though the guts faster then having intercourse. his sperm has the same stuff as the gel doctors use to induce you
