EGYPTIAN WOMAN: A HEROIC ACTION!!!!?

this story took place during Jeursalem's war, while Sultan Saladin's reign, i want to have your comments, and what have you learnt of it?!!!.

Immediately after Sultan Saladin prepared his Army to face the Crusaders in order to liberate Jeursalem, Egyptian women gathered and went in hundreds to the Castle of the wonderful Sultan. Saladin thought it is some kind of womanly protest, and wondered, then the women said to Saladin " O Great Sultan, we want to go with you ". Saladin replied " But we are in no need for your bodies in such a war, our men's bodies are enough!!! ".

What did these great women do?!!!

twent back and after couple of days they returned again, but this time they all were bald as men, carrying all their cut hairs and gave it to Saladin and said " We have been searching, and found nothing more, we can offer to participate in liberating Jeursalem, and fighting in the Name of Allah, except our hairs, take it thou Great Sultan, make bridles with our hairs to the horses, so that Knights fighting in Allah's Name hold it with their hands ".

And Saladin accepted the gift from the Egyptian Women, and after he defeated the Crusaders, and restored Jeursalem back, he returned to Egypt and made his Speech and said " My fellow muslims, today we won, with Allah's Will, and with the hairs of the Egyptian Women "

So, all respects and honors to the Egyptian Woman

and sorry for ignoring and deliberatly neglecting her honorable and dignifying role in Islam

Wow that's great. I really look up to Salah el Din. He is my role model. The way he acted (manners), morals, decisive, caring, etc.

Those women are also great. Honestly im in love with my hair and don't know if I would do that. That's awesome.

@Wolfie hey man you don't know how much a woman's hair means to here lol. I mean my hair is like my prized possession, and shaving it all off is like taking my identity. That's why it going to be hard for me lama at hajib.

Well just a question, why would that be a heroic action?! I mean they only shaved their hair!!

May be if you talked about Prophet Ayoub's wife, who had golden hair made into something like dread locks and her hair was really beautiful and at the time of Ayoub's (pbuh) sickness, she shaved it and sold it so that she can have money to buy her sick husband food and medicine. That's a heroic action.

Also Shajar Al Durr, when her husband the last sultan of the Ayubbyid dynasty, died and the Mongols were at the doors, she kept the news of her husband's death a secret and she organized and supervised the army training to get it ready for battle which latter after her demise became the legendary battle of Ain Jalut where the Egyptians crushed the Mongols. That's a heroic action.

So how come the Sultan praised the Egyptian women back then and the men today do not acknowledged them as much?

Dose that mean the Egyptian men are getting dumber?

I am not sure what we are ment to get from the story, I do not believe you will like my honest answer.

Can you tell me what you got from it, as an Egyptian man?

Wow, thats a really nice story!

I actually find it as a heroic action because it would be so hard for me too be willing to give up my hair like that. Even though I wear the Hijab I still love my hair and i'd be devastated to shave it all off.....but if its all for the sake of our country, so i'd probably consider it.
