Can I safely brine a Christmas turkey for 36 hours?

My wife wanted me to make a 16 lb. turkey for Christmas. I put it in the fridge to soak in a brine of 1 c. salt, 1/2 c. brown sugar, 2 bullion cubes, and a cup of apple juice at 8:30 pm on Wednesday. I was going to let it soak for 12+ hours before cooking it on Thursday. I just found out that we're not supposed to eat the turkey until Friday. Which means, I'll have to leave it in the brine to soak at least 36 hours. Most recipes say that 24 is the max. If I let it soak for 36 hours, will it ruin the meet or make it unhealthy? It is the fridge.

Update:

Oops, forgot to mention above... The brine mixture was disolved on a stove and then mixed with about 2 gallons of water/ice.

Simply take the bird out of the brine after 24 hours, rinse thoroughly, pat dry, inside and out (make sure you get it very dry, no matter how many paper towels it takes)

Wrap the turkey in foil and keep refrigerated until you are going to use it.

    You should be fine, then.

No. You should only brine for up to 24hrs!
