Why is it that people want to live at the foot of a valcano and near by?

    My guess?

    Well, usually when people live near volcanos, it is on a tropical Island. some people can't resist the idea of the tropics and if the volcano is dormant, very inactive, or reliably flows away from where you live, most people are comfortable with that.
