Which computer to buy?
I would like to get a new computer instead of having work done on this one because it old anyway. My question is that I saw an e-machine brand at Wal-mart and am wondering if that is a good computer? I am considering it because of the price and have to have my finances into account when I get one. I have an HP now. I don't play on-line games or anything like that, only visiting Y/A, e-mailing and just general net-surfing if this information helps. Thanks.

Get a new HP. HP is by far the best computer - laptop company. My Dad had a Mac and about 6 months into it, the computer crashed and there was no way to fix it.Plus Mac's cost a s**t load of money. My best friend's family had a dell and it was slow, it didn't work right and it slowly crashed. My step dad has an Intel HP laptop that he bought three or four years ago and it still works. So I HIGHLY recommend you get a new Intel HP. And I have an e-machine right now that I am using. And so far it is great. So you either want an Intel HP or an E-machine. Hope this helps and good luck.

You use your computer for doing about the same things I do,mine is for pleasure only no business so the E Machine may be ok for what you need it for.I had one and had problems right off with it but that doesn't mean you will,if you do you can return it.I personally love HP,my old one lasted 10 years with no problems but about the last 2 years it was so slow I just got tired of messing with it.My husband finally got tired of hearing me gripe about it so he got me a new Gateway,that computer is awesome,i have had it 7 months now and so far so good.Dell I have heard people say that they are starting to have problems with them but I don't know and others love them.Mac's are very expensive and I think more features than you would use since it is not for business.I like the Gateway because it is the new smaller down sized one and does not over heat,even when it is on all day and does not take up a lot of room.You hear a lot about Gateway but you really need to just go to Wal Mart and talk to them about different computers and then decide.You can also get the HP Monitor for $148,it is 15 inches high and 20 wide,it has a shiny screen like the plasma tv's and I just love it,the colors are so much prettier.It's a tough decision but one that you will have to decide on.

Mac's are really good computers, they need almost no upkeep, but they are very expensive. So i would go with the e-Machine, they make farly good computers.
But don't get it at Wal-mart computers are one thing they overcharge on, get it at http://www.tigerdirect.com/

MAC, macs are the best, go to an apple store, they are so worth the extra money
