If you think you could really solve the unknown problems of an unknown stranger effectively then you are without a doubt a liberal. I could certainly solve (and have) several problems of close family members because I know them well and could spend that money effectively and efficiently. Doing it for a total stranger would be little more than a crap shoot with results that couldn't;t possibly be effective or effective (much like having the government solve perfect stranger;s problems) What would I do? If I couldn't donate it to a cousin with Parkinsons, or a son getting through college or a grandson with irresponsible parents or a nephew struggling to get into college or a cousin who is deathly ill or a son who will be married in a few months then I guess the best I could do with it would be donate it to a skidrow bum to drink up.

People change only if they want to, i would give them the money
and let them decide for themselves, cause chances are in most
cases the fact remains though people don't seem to want to deal
with it, that a good percentage of homeless people didn't all start
from the bottom, but as long as we're still a democracy they can
have the money along with a second chance at life, as the old saying
goes, " A Little Goes A Long Way If You Know The Right Way To Go " . . .

Spend it on myself and tell a stranger that I got paid $1000 not to try to slap some sense into them.

I'll open my eyes and look for someone who is relying on his/ her car to keep his/ her job, but the vehicle is somewhat of a jalopy. I won't be able to buy a new car for them, but I will be able to at least get the mechanics in a decent working condition again.
OR...
I will find out if there is someone in desperate need of medical attention, but can't afford it. I will start a fund raiser and initiate it with the $1000.

have to gve it to someone in a third world country. probably wouldn;t change someones life much in the US. if you gave it to someone homeless, they could rent a place for 1-3 months, but without work and stuff, it wouldn;t really change their life for long.
