    less problems than 'gearies'

chain will still rust pretty fast if not lubed

water gets in the frame and bearings - that is bad but no different from a 'gearie'

    no cables though

    or - fewer cables

if you don;t have brakes, they can;t get more slippery when wet

but if you depend on skidding to stop, that isn;t going to work as well as dry

    wle.

You can ride any bike in the rain. The most noticeable change is the rust on the chain. If you don't have to don't ride in rain but its not impossible

You can ride them in the rain, keep the chain oiled. People even ride them in the snow and claim they are better then freewheeled bikes because you can feel the wheel slipping but not locking up.

well...it will be harder/more fun to skid stop.

that being said, you can ride any bike in any kind of weather. is it good for it? no. but niether is driving your car in the rain and snow, but nobody thinks twice about doing that...
