Is a Non mention disrespectful?

We just had a xmas dinner at my mom in law, who lost her husband earlier this year. While most of us where in the middle of prepping dinner, my sis in laws hubby yanked everyone out for immediate attention to a thank you prayer, that completely ignored the recently deceased dad in law. I though he deserved a good mention, if not for him, at least for mom in law., but then I am not immediate family either. It seemed very rude.. My husband was mad. Whats your take?

Honey, believe you me, you will come to realize that "in-laws" no matter whose they are, yours, mine, his/hers, they are weird and can't be changed, stay outside looking in, it is in your best interest. But I do agree with you, the recently departed, did at least deserve an honorable mention. God Bless.

I will gladly swap problems with you... "my" wife has C.O.P.D. and I have a bad heart. Ever notice how a (during 911) all the people running away from the building said nothing about family problems?
