1. how can I format a new CDR disk so that I can copy music, 2. how do I delete what is already on a CDR disk?

I am using Windows Media and some new disks as well as some that have a few songs on them, hope someone can help, not too complicated please!

    CD-R can not have data deleted from it sorry. CD-RW can. the entire point of CD-RW is to give CDs the power to do it. CD-R can have data added after it is burned though if you enable multi session before hand. sorry about that

    You can't unless its a CD-RW (re-writable) disc.
