Why not?
ADVANTAGES:
extra weapon class
new challenges = more experience
new emblems/titles
looks cooler I guess?
DISADVANTAGES:
lose all weapons, perks and the challenges
just having to start over because the weapons suck at first
I'd still prestige, just because it's fun to start over and it doesn't get as old as fast. And the extra weapon class is VERY helpful to me,
As long as you prestige at a reasonable pace (so you don't look like a no-lifer like the people who already got 10th prestige WITHOUT hacking) No one really cares that much anyways. There are people who've played over 10+ days and the game has only been out for a month and a half...

Once you reach level 70 there really isn't anything to do after that so why not prestige. You get a new custom class slot for every odd number prestige(1,3,5,7 and 9). You also unlock new emblems, titles and challenges that you can only get after you prestige. Plus you level up pretty fast through the first 20 or so levels and I am already at level 60 after prestiging and realized that I don't really miss those weapons that are not unlocked yet. When you first prestige you can only use 3 pre set classes until you get to level 4, its fun to play with the challenge of not using weapons your comfortable with or used to. But if your happy with your weapon unlocks and earning xp for nothing than go ahead and stay level 70, seems like a waste to me though.

I have found that prestieging isn't all that great. On MW1 I prestieged 3 times and the game got a little repetitive to me. What I found that makes it interesting and challenging is completing all of the challenges on all of the weapons. Getting all the camos and attatchments is addicting and fun. I always wanna keep playing till I get to that next headshot or kill with that one specific weapon. After i have finished all of that and there is nothing left to achieve, then i will prestige.
