All you need to become a pharmacy tech is a HS diploma/GED and a clean criminal record. Most states require a license, but your employer will help you with that upon hire and they usually also play the license application fee.
Pretty much any retail pharmacy will hire techs without experience and the above requirements. That's how I started out. 95% of the techs I work with only have a HS diploma/GED.
You do not need any kind of college, special classes, or formal training to get a job as a tech or to pass the PTCE (Pharmacy Tech Certification Exam). Working in a pharmacy will give you all the knowledge you need. Why spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on an "education" that you can get from paid training and working in a pharmacy for a few months?
Visit the Pharmacy Tech Certification Board website for more info on becoming certified: https://www.ptcb.org//AM/Template.cfm?Section=Home...
