Getting rid of the pass, is it worth it?
Our 16 mo old son is attached to his pacifier. He's so attached that he named him "buddy". On a positive note, he only needs buddy when he goes to sleep at night. He doesn't need him during the day nor when taking a nap. And in the morning, he has a little protest, but surrenders buddy an moves on. The big problem is that he losses buddy at night in his crib. He'll get up and need us to find it 4-5 times a night, sometimes more. Is it worth taking the pass away & doing it the so called 3 nights cold turkey? Or will he eventually grow out of it soon? There are nights where he will get up only 2-3 times, but that's is not the norm.

Luckily my babies never really liked the pacifier, but I do have a sister who until she was four refused to go anywhere without her binkey. If I were you I would say your a big boy and move on. He's fine without it through out the day he's probably ready to get rid of it in the night. The three nights of screaming will be terrible, but think about the fourth night when you can sleep through the night and so does he. If you're not ready to get rid of it then don't just remember though, they get even more stubborn the older they get. It's best to get rid of things like that before they become more stubborn then you.
Good Luck!

Keep two in the crib so you can your rest, he'll forget about it soon. Your doing a great job, but i think its more comforting to him knowing your around in the middle of the night to fetch 'buddy' when he needs you to. Good luck!
