Emergency: My son got a staple stuck in his finger nail?

I pulled it out, and it only bled for a minute. Do i need to take him to the ER to get a tetnus shot? He is 11 months old.

I don't think it's necessary to take him to the ER for a tetanus shot but I would definitely call the doctor first thing in the morning. Tetanus symptoms usually appear 3-14 days after initial exposure so you'll be fine to wait overnight. Also, if he's been getting his regular well baby checkups and vaccinations, he's probably already covered.

If the staple wasn't rusty I wouldn't go to the emergency room. Call the doctor in the morning and schedule an appointment for the tetanus shot. It also depends on when he had his last tetanus shot he may not need another one.

I think that he should probably be okay, but if you're worried, please by all means take him to the ER, so that a doctor can check him out. I know that there are a lot of mothers out there, that are quite worried when there little ones get hurt, and this is quite a normal feeling.

if it was rusty take him to it and even if it wasnt rusty it still would be a good idea to take him to be safe
